Objective: To analyze the dramatic conclusion of The Great Gatsby. (STANDARD RL.5)

Success Criteria: Students will show mastery by having engaging table partner discussions. 
  
Agenda:
1.    SSR - 20 min
2.    Grammar Quiz #7: The Semicolon and Colon (and retake quiz #6) - 15 min
3.    Go over the answers to the Huck Finn test and Unit Test #1 – 20 min
4.    Discuss the end of Chapter 8 – 10 min
5.    Read half of Chapter 9 aloud – 10 min
6.    Continue reading the remainder of Chapter 9 individually – 15 min

Success Criteria: Students will show mastery by comparing similar characters, relationships, and bystanders opinions.

  1. Discuss Chapters 13-18 – 30 min
  2. MLA Works Cited Page – 20 min
  3. Individually, finish the novel – 40 min
  4. Optional: Read “Marriage is a Private Affair” and answer a Google Classroom questions – due Monday by 11:00 am

Assessment: Optional Extra Credit via Google Classroom

Homework: Chapters 19-20, p. 168-193
