Objective: To prove your knowledge of The Great Gatsby in a 50 question reading passage and objective test.  (STANDARD RL.1-5)

Success Criteria: Students will show mastery on the test by earning at least an 80%.

  

Agenda:

1.    Test with scantron – 90 min

2.    When finished…

a.       Prepare for Persuasive Essay #2 (write an outline?)

b.      Prepare for Literary Analysis #2 (character analysis, theme analysis, conflict analysis, literary device analysis, or book review) – fill in graphic organizer, write claim, find quotations

c.       Continue reading Choice book

3.    Determine order for next week’s Choice Reading interviews

Homework: Persuasive Essay #2, due the end of the block tomorrow

Success Criteria: Students will show mastery by contributing relevant comments and reading relevant passages to earn a minimum of 17 points.

  

Agenda:

1.            One hour graded class discussion – 60 min

2.            Student work time.  Paper due at the end of class tomorrow. – 30 min

Assessment: Socratic Seminar

Homework: Literary Analysis over Their Eyes Were Watching God due tomorrow at the end of the block.
