American Literature Lesson

Objective: To predict the conflict resolution in The Great Gatsby(STANDARD RL.5)

Success Criteria: Students will show mastery by drawing a character web, noting the man versus man conflicts between the numerous characters, and noting whether each conflict has been resolved or not.
  
Agenda:

3.      Discuss story structure: Exposition, Rising Action, Climax, Falling Action, Resolution/Denouement – 5 min

“He was very solemn and helped her to the seat beside him” (Hurston 32). 

Student Learning Objective: To draw parallels between Janie and “Girl.” (STANDARD RL.1, RL.2)

Success Criteria: Students will show mastery by listing three common traits between Janie and “Girl.”
