Student Learning Objective: To draw parallels between the relationships in Their Eyes Were Watching God and “Marriage is a Private Affair” or “Good Country People.” (STANDARD RL.1, RL.2)

Success Criteria: Students will show mastery by comparing similar characters, relationships, and bystanders opinions.
  
Agenda:
1.      Student led discussion of Chapters 16-18 – 10 min
2.      Individually, read either “Marriage is a Private Affair” OR “Good Country People” – 30 min
3.      Exit Slip via Google Classroom – 10 min
4.      Finish the novel – rest of class
