Objective: To prove your knowledge of your choice reading novel in a live interview. (STANDARD SL.1)

Success Criteria: Students will show mastery by earning at least a 40/50 on the choice reading interview rubric.

1.      Notebook: ITN - 15 min

2.      Choice Reading Interviews - 35 min

3.      Discuss GG Ch. 3-4 - 15 min

4.      Reading time until last 5 min of class – 20 min

5.      EXIT SLIP: Reading Passage 1 with questions – 5 min

Assessment: Choice Reading Interviews, Reading passage questions

Homework: GG Ch. 5

Objective: To be introduced to and practice some SAT reading strategies. (STANDARD RI.1, RI.2)

Success Criteria: Students will show mastery by attempting a timed test reading strategy.

  

Agenda:

1.      Notebook: Invitation to Imitate – 15 min

2.      Choose students to be interviewed - 5 min

3.      Discuss SAT Reading Test Strategies - 20 min

4.      Practice Passage 1 with two questions - 10 min

5.      Discuss GG Ch. 3-4 – 20 min

6.      Continue reading GG Ch. 5 – 20 min
