Objective 1st block: To prove your knowledge of Death of a Salesman in a 100 point persuasive essay.  5th block: To be exposed to a play performance and to compare and contrast the written text to the performance. (STANDARD RL.7)

Success Criteria: Students will show mastery by successfully comparing and contrasting the written text to the play performance in tomorrow’s EXIT SLIP.

Agenda:
First Block:
1.    Mystery Purse Writing Activity (comma practice before Comma second chance quiz) - 30 min
2.      Open book/notes Persuasive Essay #3: Death of a Salesman, due at the end of the block – 60 min
Fifth Block:
1.     Mystery Purse Writing Activity (comma practice before Comma second chance quiz) - 30 min
2.     View Act II of the movie of Death of a Salesman OR Begin working on Academic Essay #3, due Friday at the end of the block – 60 min

Student Learning Objective: (1) To continue to analyze the internal and external conflicts in Hamlet.  (2)To analyze multiple interpretations of a play (written word versus performed). (STANDARDS RL.1, RL.7)

Success Criteria: Students will show mastery by summarizing the events of ACT to a table partner.

Agenda:
  1. Watch ACT III, starting with the play within the play – 20 min
  2. Read ACT IV p. 94-118 – 45 min
  3. Read ACT V, scene 1 p. 119 – 129 – 20 min
  4. Watch ACT IV and V.1

Assessment: Oral class discussion


Homework: Reread ACT IV, as needed; Prepare ACT summary to be used on test.
