Objective: To prove your knowledge of the novel in a well-supported literary analysis. (STANDARD RL.1-2, W.2)

Success Criteria: Students will show mastery by improving their academic essay score from A#3 to A#4. 

Agenda:
1.    Student work day to complete Academic #4 – due at the end of the block
2.    Grant project Choice Novel #5 (optional extra credit, due Wednesday Jan 17, to be added to your portfolio score)

Assessment: Academic Essay #4: Divergent

Homework: Annotated Bib #4, due Friday at the end of the block

Success Criteria: Students will show mastery by improving their persuasive essay score from P#3 to P#4. 

Agenda:
1.     Persuasive Essay #4: Divergent - Time essay test – 50 min

Assessment: Persuasive Essay #4: Divergent

Homework: Academic Essay #4, due Thursday – no class time to complete this essay

AP English Literature and Composition

Objective: To work collaboratively to create and maintain a group “book talk” blog on the chosen literature circle novel. (STANDARD RL. 1-5, W.2, W.6)

Success Criteria: Students will show mastery by creating a reading and blogging schedule for the remainder of Unit 8: Literature Circle Novel. 

Agenda:
  1. Go over answers to A Tale of Two Cities Test and hand back essays – 5 min
  2. Design a group reading blog - 20 min
  3. Read independently (or collaboratively) – 30 min

Assessment: Reading/blogging schedule; Creation of blog; Email me a link to your blog


Homework: Continue reading Literature Circle Novel according to reading schedule set by group
