OBJECTIVE: (1) 3^rd Block Writing Pretest: To demonstrate a careful reading of the passage, present a clear and logical analysis, and use language precisely. (2) 4^th and 5^th Blocks: To read closely to determine what the text says. (STANDARD RL.1)

SUCCESS CRITERIA: Students will show mastery by (1) using evidence from the passage to support a claim, and (2) Students will show mastery of comprehension by citing specific textual evidence from the novel when speaking to a table partner about the main events from 23-47.

  

AGENDA:

1.     3^rd Block ONLY: Writing Pre-test – 50 min

2.     4^th and 5^th ONLY: Review "Of Plymouth Plantation" - 5 min

3.     4^th and 5^th ONLY: Read “The Starving Time” (and from history textbook) – 10 min

4.     Grammar Notes #2: Verbs - 20 min (3^rd block needs to do clicker quiz Thursday)

5.     Begin HF p. 47-70 - remaining time

ASSESSMENT: Table partner discussions/question and answer sessions

HOMEWORK: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn Chapters 9-12 p. 47-70
