Objective: To recognize the foreshadowed climax in Chapter 8 of The Great Gatsby.  (STANDARD RL.5)

Success Criteria: Students will show mastery by drawing a character web, noting the man versus man conflicts between the numerous characters.

3. Review the Annotated Bibliography Rubric – 5 min
4. Discuss the remainder of Chapter 7 – 15 min
5. With a table partner… - 10 min

a.     Make a list of six man versus man conflicts

b.     Draw a character web, making note of relationship connections

6.     Read half of Chapter 8 aloud – 20 min

7.     Continue reading the remainder of Chapter 8 individually – 20 min
