American Literature

Objective: To continue to review for Monday's UNIT TEST #1. (STANDARD RL.9, RI.9)

Success Criteria: Students will show mastery by creating flashcards to quiz a table partner.

Agenda:
1.     SSR (sustained, silent, reading) - 25 min
2.     Notebook Entry #8: Write for 5 minutes about what you read. – 5 min
3.    SAT Reading Passage: Read the passage and answer questions 43-52.  This is a timed practice test.  We will go over the answer tomorrow. – 13 minutes
4.    Read from textbook, “Poor Richard’s Almanack” p. 117 – 10 min
5.     EXIT SLIP: p. 119 Writing Options #3 – Write three or four aphorisms that express the advice you would give to a freshman.  Imitate Franklin’s style by using crisp, witty language.  – 10 min
6.     Make flashcards with a table partner for each title and author and term and definition on the UNIT TEST #1 Study Guide – 20 min


Assessment: EXIT SLIP: p. 119 Writing Options #3; Hang on to the SAT practice test

Homework: Choice Novel reading; prepare for upcoming UNIT TEST (Monday)
