American Literature Lesson

Objective: To write arguments to support claims in an analysis of substantive topics or texts, using valid reasoning and relevant and sufficient evidence. (STANDARD RI.1, W.1)
 

Success Criteria: Students will show mastery by satisfying the rubric requirements on the writing pretest.

Agenda: 

1.      Go over answers to Grammar Quiz #1 – 5 min

2.      Introduction to controversial issue (video) - 5 min

3.      Reading/Writing Pre-test.  Please staple the rubric to your notebook paper when you turn it in to the tray - 60 min

4.      Time to read IR when finished - until the end of class  

Assessment: Reading/Writing Pre-test  

Homework: 20 min IR book
