Success Criteria: Students will show mastery by using their course
syllabus as a resource on Wednesday's syllabus quiz.
Agenda:
1. Book Talk - The Girl in the Blue
Coat - 2 min
2. Discussion of syllabus, classroom procedures,
emergency procedures, etc. - 30 min
3. Speed date books - 30 seconds with each book -
20 min
4. Construct Writer's Notebook (at least begin to)
- 10 min
5. Notebook entry #1: Invitation to
Notice/Invitation to Imitate - Icy Sparks passage - 10 min
Assessment: General understanding of how to use the syllabus
as a resource.
Homework:
(1) select an IR book, (2) review the syllabus, (3) begin decorating Writing
Notebook
