American Literature Lesson
9 January 2020

Objective: (1) To prove your knowledge of your choice reading novel in a live interview. (STANDARD SL.1) (2) To research Argument #3 topic, finding at least one quality source that answers a question or helps solve a problem. (STANDARD W.7)

Success Criteria: (1) Students will show mastery by earning at least a 45/50 on the choice reading interview rubric. (2) Students will show mastery by locating one credible source, locating its claim and best evidence to support that claim. 
  
Agenda:
1.      Go over answers to Grammar Quiz #11 and Grammar Quiz #12 - 10 min
2.      Choice Reading Interviews - 30 min 
3.      Independent work time to research for Argument #3 articles - 50 min
a.       Due today: 1 source saved, claim and best evidence identified

Assessment: Choice Reading Interviews, 1 source (claim and evidence)

Homework: 20 questions if not interviewed this time

AP English Literature Lesson

Objective: To work collaboratively to create and maintain a group “book talk” blog on the chosen literature circle novel. (STANDARD RL. 1-5, W.2, W.6)

Success Criteria: Students will show mastery by producing two thought-provoking, critical analysis blog posts of their literature circle novel.

Agenda:
1.      Discuss novel with group – 20 min
2.      Create and proof-read blogs/Post two blogs by the end of the block – 40 min
3.      Read independently (or collaboratively) – 30 min

Assessment: Two blog posts (21-22)

Homework: Literary Analysis due tomorrow at the end of the block
