Objective: To be prepared for Monday’s IR #1 assessments. (STANDARD RL.1-2)

Success Criteria: Students will show mastery by completing one assessment in each category.

Agenda:
1.      Time to read! Conference - 20 min
2.      Notebook#6 Slam poem: “Hand me Downs” - 15 min
3.      Revolutionary Literary Period Notes - 10 min
4.      Time to work on Independent Reading Assessments #1 OR continue reading – remainder of class

Objective: To write narratives to develop real or imagined experiences or events using effective technique, well-chosen details, and well-structured event sequences. (STANDARD W.3)

Success Criteria: Students will show mastery by earning a 4 out of 5 under the Stimulating Ideas heading on the Creative Piece rubric.
  
Agenda:
Student work time for Creative Piece/Personal Narrative #1 due end of block – 90 min
When finished, go to PRINT, OHS Writing Lab, attach purple rubric and turn into the tray

Assessment: Creative Piece/Personal Narrative #1, due at the end of the block

Homework: 20 min of IR reading

Success Criteria: Students will show mastery by writing about a time they saw one of Franklin's aphorisms at work in their lives.

2.      SSR EXIT SLIP, about what you just read (turn this in!) - 10 min
3.      Read from textbook, "Poor Richard's Almanack," the green box on p. 117 - 5 min
4.      EXIT SLIP: p. 119 #2 (turn this in!) - 5 min
5.      Continue drafting Creative Piece/Personal Narrative or reading IR book - 40 min

Success Criteria: Students will show mastery by "dissecting" a poem with a table partner and presenting their findings to another pair.
