American Literature Lesson

Objective: To continue the study of Poe, particularly comparing and contrasting the murderers’ regrets in “Cask of Amontillado” and “The Tell Tale Heart.” (STANDARD RL.1-2)

Success Criteria: Students will show mastery by filling in the spreadsheet (EXIT SLIP) to use as a resource for a later writing assignment.

Agenda:

1.      Time to shop for a Book Club Book - 10 min

2.      Group conference to set reading schedule - 10 min

3.      Time to read - 20 min

4.      Notebook #15: Your goals for Book Club  - 5 min

5.      Go over the answers to Grammar Quiz #4 – 5 min

6.      Read aloud: “The Tell Tale Heart” – 30 min

7.      Continue to fill in Spreadsheet (EXIT SLIP) - 10 min
