Objective: (1) To demonstrate command of the conventions of Standard English, particularly the apostrophe and proper capitalization, and (2) To practice introducing the ideas in a quotation and explaining the significance of the quotation. (STANDARD L.1, W.2)

Success Criteria: Students will show mastery by earning an 80% on Grammar Quiz #9.

Agenda: 

1.     OPEN NOTES Grammar Quiz #9 - 15 min

2.     They Say, I Say Chapter Three: "As He Himself Puts It: The Art of Quoting" - 15 min

3.     Framing Quotations activity (with significant quotations from Divergent) - 30 min

4.     Around the world "sharing" - 30 min

Assessment: Formative Clicker Quiz, Framing Quotations Practice

Homework: Finish Divergent Ch. 38-39; Divergent Final Test and Persuasive Essay #4 on Monday!
